Concealer Tutorial: Getting Rid of Those Unwanted Dark Circles

Soft Winged Eye

I decided to play a little with the gel liner that Hot Mess has and I thought to myself what is hotter than a winged eye right now? Nothing came to my mind so I had to attempt it. Now, I don't like the dramatic black line all the way to your hairline or when half of your eyelid is pure black so tried a softer and not so dramatic winged eye.

I loved the way it turned out and Black Hole Gel Liner is only $10! How can you go wrong? 

So how did I do it...

I started off with a clean eye and used Prime It, a great all over primer, so I wouldn't have to worry about touching up later in the day. After I applied Prime It to my eyes I covered them with a thin layer of concealer to hide all of my flaws. (Dark circles, little veins, etc.)  Then I used Angel Pigment to highlight directly under my brow and by my tear ducts. 

The liner was next! I actually drew on the shape I wanted with the eyeliner pencil in Ninja and then filled it in with the gel liner using an eyeliner brush. After my eyeliner looked marvelous I put a little bit of Back Seat pigment on my lid. It is a silver sparkle shimmer that doesn't look trashy and a color I LOVE!

 Now for the crease. I took a small pigment brush and applied the eyeshadow Baby Got Back from the end of my wing and up into my crease and also right under my bottom lash line. This helps blend everything together and gives that softer less dramatic look.

The thing I love about makeup is there is no exact way to do anything. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself is what you should strive for. We are all beautiful without any color on our faces but how much fun is it to play and create different looks everyday!!

Behind the Scene shots of our first editorial photo shoot with Hot Mess Cosmetics!

Besides some unwanted winds, my first attempt at an editorial photo shoot with Hot Mess Cosmetics was a success! I had two beautiful models that helped make this easy and was lucky enough that one of them was my sister Jenny. 

 Preparing for the models to arrive I unpacked my goodies. Yes this is a cookie sheet which my mother so graciously lent me to place all of my Hot Mess products on in an orderly fashion. Oh how this lasted about 10 seconds. Hey, at least it looked pretty for awhile.

My wonderful baby who was sitting in a high chair next to me (should have gotten a picture) smiled at the girls the whole time I was getting them ready. I don't know how I would be able to do these things without such a calm 9 month old. 

By the end of applying the two models makeup I was ready for pictures. Nestled in the cattails on my parents property we got some amazing shots. This really made me excited to do some more photo shoots using Hot Mess Cosmetics!
